Musicality:
=======
The RicaSalsa Musicality Method:
Interpreting the music for RicaSalsa, is the most important part of Salsa dancing besides the dancing technique.
RicaSalsa will teach you the ability to put your dance pattern on top of the musical phrase. When they match, it is great. It is called musicality.
To be highly musical does not require complex steps. But as far as I know, musicality is valued as the most important dancing quality beside the ability to lead and follow well.
So, it is improvisational? Yes, RicaSalsa will teach you many different concepts. Then comes the ability to emphasize a musical phrase: divide the dance into little parts and interpret salsa music.
Let ‘s put it this way, Interpretation! Feeling for the music. Followers can interpret the music with out interfering with the lead. Leaders can interpret the music and have more options as a salsa dancer.
This workshops will help you to understand and be able to dance with (to enjoy and be enjoyed by) a dancer of any level from any where in the world.
Connection:
========
Our style focuses on “Connection”. One of the most fascinating technical ideas connected with The RicaSalsa Technique concerns lead and follow. The basic technique asks a couple to establish how a normal connection feels. In other words, “how much pressure is in the normal connection”. In Salsa Dancing, this is mostly through a one-hand connection and is best used as a very light connection.
We get into the fine details of connection that are absolutely necessary to be a good Salsa dancer. We’ll go through analogies, tools, and exercises that will help build good habits. We share our secrets on how to create a unique Salsa connection!
We work on: 1.) Timing and rhythm 2.) Balance and spinning ability 3.) Connection 4.) Smooth lead/follow 5.) The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
The RicaEnamorarse Salsa Challenge!
