PLATO WAS A RAVER - The Parahumans

The Parahumans present a remake of the 2001 production Plato Was A Raver. Artistic Director Dave Wilson has added new material to the current production. The cast includes 5 dancers (Andrea Lithgow, Pam Shoebottom, Laura MacKinnon, Meghan Trevorrow, Madeleine Shen) and 3 actors (Jesse Stanley, Jamie Ebbs, Lacey Creighton). Lighting Design by Patrick Brennan. Plato’s journey from Ancient Greece to his current life in Toronto, Canada, traverses global cultures and centuries of time taking in a soccer game in Scotland and the birth of ballet in Russia.

Plato and his students at the Academy, explore the far reaches of body, mind and spirit through 20 humorous, philosophical and surreal scenes of dance, theatre, yoga and ritual. These include: Academy Yoga, The Healing, Beyond The Veil, Birth of Plato, Calliope – Goddess of Poetry, Demeter – Earth Goddess, Atlantis, Noah’s Ark, Spice Up Your Life, Dance of Death, A Hole for One, Delphic Oracle – Her Soul Travels, Rave, Head Hunting, Urania – Goddess of Astronomy.
