Gaga Dance Training this August!

Aboriginal Dance Training (ADT) is Kaha:wi Dance Theatres one-of-a-kind physical training intensive that offers a combination of Western-based and Indigenous dance styles complemented by alternative training systems that are aimed at activating and preparing the body and mind for movement and performance.

This August we are extremely thrilled to be offering classes in GAGA - The Movement Language led by Jye-Hwei Lin and developed by Ohad Naharin, artistic director of the Bat Sheva dance company.

ABOUT GAGA DANCE

Gaga is a new way of gaining knowledge and self-awareness through your body. Gaga provides a framework for discovering and strengthening your body and adding flexibility, stamina, and agility while lightening the senses and imagination. Gaga raises awareness of physical weaknesses, awakens numb areas, exposes physical fixations, and offers ways for their elimination. The work improves instinctive movement and connects conscious and unconscious movement, and it allows for an experience of freedom and pleasure in a simple way, in a pleasant space, in comfortable clothes, accompanied by music, each person with himself and others.

Jye-Hwei was born and raised in Taiwan. She moved to the States to pursue a bachelor degree at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Upon graduation, she moved to NYC in 2006. She joined LeeSaar The Company in 2007 and teaches in New York.
