UK/Canada Dancefilm Exchange

We are looking for two dancefilm artists living and working in Toronto
who would like to develop their practice through an opportunity for
networking with British dance filmmakers.

Artists selected will be emerging choreographer/filmmakers with some
experience in both disciplines.

The Offer:

If selected you would join a program that involves:

Attendance at the 12th Moving Pictures Festival October 23-26, 2003 and
additional networking activities.

A seven day visit to London and Brighton in the UK in November 2003
(potential dates - the week beginning 3rd November 2003) to make
connections with and view work of British dance film makers and attend
Dance on Screen in London.

The opportunity to share ideas with artists and mentors and propose a
project plan for research and development.

An intensive Lab week in Toronto in March 2004 (potential dates - week
beginning 29th March 2004) to develop/test out the project plan.

You will be paid/given:

Airfare, accommodation and per diem of £30 for your visit to Britain
in November 2003.

A bursary of $1000 CAD for out of pocket expenses and to subsidize
ongoing preparation work following the visit and involvement in the Lab
week in March 2004.

All equipment and space provided free, in negotiation and agreement
with South East Dance and the Moving Pictures Festival.

How do you apply?
1. Send a letter outlining your reasons for wanting to join this
project
2. A CV that outlines the experience and skills you have in dance film
3. A VHS copy of your most recent dance film work(s).

The deadline is: 30 August 2003.
