Marketing and Development Assistant - Summer Position
Dates: June 21, 2004 September 3, 2004
Description:
Kaeja dąDance is seeking a mature, responsible, flexible, and creative
student with initiative to act as an assistant to our Director of Marketing
and Development. This is a fantastic opportunity for a student who is
interested in a career in Communications, Marketing and/or Publicity to gain
hands on practical experience in their field. The Marketing and Development
Assistant will work in collaboration with the Kaeja dąDance team to
implement Marketing and Development initiatives. They will have the
opportunity to interact with the media, board members, performers, and the
public.
Duties:
The Marketing and Development Assistant will be responsible for:
… Working with the Director of Marketing and Development in constructing a
new Marketing Plan
… Researching possible sponsorship sources, private and corporate
foundations.
… Assembling and distributing press kits to media, faxing press releases
making follow up calls.
… Archiving press material
… Internet research for International Arts Presenters, Dance and Film
Festivals
… General office administration including: updating mailing lists, filing,
answering telephone and e-mail messages, and general administrative tasks
Job Qualifications:
… Be legally entitled to work in Canada
… Be registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and
intending to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year
… Not hold another full-time job or attend full-time classes during this
summer placement
… Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusively) at the time of
intake/selection
… Have previous experience in Communications, Marketing and/or Publicity
… Excellent communication abilities
… Strong computer skills (preferably Apple/Macintosh) & strong sense of
design/layout
… Experience with web site authoring is an asset
… Exposure to contemporary dance is valuable, but not required
