Call for Submissions
IN A WHITE ROOM 2005

Attention Choreographers: showcase your “site specific” work at the newly renovated Dancemakers Centre for Creation in the Historic Distillery District.

Dates: Deadline for submissions February 1, 2005
Successful applicants will be notified by February14, 2005
Technical rehearsals/performances: June13-19

Concept: Nine choreographers, nine different pieces, all of which occur in a white room. The “white room” will be a common set for all choreographers consisting of pillars, a chandelier and a free-standing door.

Submissions: The entrance fee of $100 is due on February 21, 2005 for successful applicants and will cover production costs (such as theatre rental, lighting design fee, technical staff, posters, flyers, advertising, front of house management, stage management). After these costs are met, each choreographer will get a cut of the box office.

Application Process
Please include the following:
1. First and last name, phone number and e-mail address.
2. Description of proposed work, in paragraph format incorporating concepts, themes and ideas. Please include (where possible) the number of dancers in your piece, their names, music, text, costumes, specific lighting requests, and any support material.
3. A Bio (60-100words)
4. A $5 processing fee (non-refundable) for each application.

Please note that all material submitted will not be returned. Completed submissions may be mailed together with the $5 processing fee, to the address below. If you wish to write a cheque, please make it out to Natasha Gascho.
