With the fall underway, and with “So You Think You Can Dance Canada” down to its last 12 competitors, we are back into competition season in Toronto. Even the city of Hamilton now hosts a dance competition, with its first ever Salsa competition awarding two winning dancers tickets to a trip to Cuba this weekend.
Another trip for two, this time to the Dominican Republic, will be awarded to winners of the Canada Salsa Campionships during the Canada Salsa Congress on October 7, 2010. Toronto’s best Hip Hop dancers will win $3000 in prizes during the Manifesto Festival this weekend. Bachata dancers can win up to $2000 in the upcoming first ever Toronto Bachata Competition. And of course in several weeks Canada’s Favorite Dancer from So You Think You Can Dance Canada will be awarded $100,000.
With prizes such as these, no wonder dance competitions are becoming more and more popular!
Look your Best at Dance Competitions
How can you stand out to increase your chances of winning a trip to a sunny resort?
We are lucky to have an experienced make-up artist right here in Toronto, Kate Stytsenko, who specializes in dance competitions and shows.
Kate has assisted many dancers to look their very best at various events including the Ohio Star Ball, the Emerald Ball, and the USA Open Professional Championships.
We wish everyone good luck in their upcoming competitions!
Winners of Hamilton’s first salsa competition are Latin Energy Kids Raymond & Jenalyn (Amateur), and Enamorarse Dance instructor Tania Wong & partner Steven Lopez (Professional).
Both couples won a trip to Cuba!
