We are delighted to welcome Yesenia Fuentes, a Montreal based Butoh dance artist and teacher, join us in Toronto to instruct a two day Butoh workshop. Yesenia is a choreographer, an interpreter, and a performing artist whose practice mainly draws from the techniques and fundamentals of Butoh. Yesenia has studied with Masaki Iwana, and Moeno Wakatmasu, bringing their influence to her numerous solo performances and students.
This workshop will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 19-20 at 12-4 pm each day. It will be followed by an evening of performance on Sunday, August 20th. The cost for both days is $80, which includes free entry to the performance night venue. It will fill up fast; you are invited! Registration open June 15.
Butoh is a form of Japanese dance theatre that encompasses a diverse range of activities, techniques and motivations for dance, performance, or movement.
