About Choreographer Jennifer Archibald
Jennifer is a Unionville High School Alumnus and the New Resident Canadian Choreographer of the Cincinnati Ballet . A graduate of the Alvin Ailey School and the Maggie Flanigan Acting Conservatory where she specialized in the Meisner technique, she brings a variety of experience and styles to Cincinnati Ballet.
In addition to choreographic work for Cincinnati Ballet, she has also been commissioned by Atlanta Ballet, Ballet Memphis, Ailey II, Kansas City Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, and has worked commercially for brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Nike and MAC Cosmetics, as well as chart-listed singers and actors.
Jennifer says of her commission, “We live in a world of noise. At what point are we free enough to allow our thoughts to go below surface level. Our body is constantly communicating with us; silently but powerfully. Do we listen to it? It takes great patience and insight to understand the language of the world and how to listen to our hearts. It is we alone who determine whether we find our personal treasure and fulfill whatever our destiny is.”
“The evening’s most driving, well executed movement came from New York’s Jennifer Archibald and her Arch Dance Company.” Washington Post
