Citadel + Compagnie: Against Nature — May 22-25 & May 29-June 1, 2019
Citadel + Compagnie presents the highly anticipated return of the 2016 Dora Mavor Moore Award-nominated production of James Kudelka’s Against Nature, running May 22-25 & May 29-June 1, 2019 at 8pm at the Citadel: Ross Centre for Dance. The second in a series of salon-style creations for Citadel + Compagnie, Against Nature incorporates one dancer, two singers and three musicians with original composition by James Rolfe and libretto by Alex Poch-Goldin. Hailed as “a must-see” (Toronto Star), Against Nature pulls from Joris-Karl Huysmans novel by the same name. Says Kudelka of the novel, “It is sensuous, celebrating smell, touch, colour, skin, poetry, painting, sex and home decorating; to the point of decadence.”
