Dancemakers is pleased to announce that Resident Artist Aisha Sasha John’s “the aisha of is” opens on Thursday, March 26, playing for three evenings only until Saturday, March 28 at Dancemakers Theatre Studio 313 in Toronto’s Distillery Historic District, at 8 pm each evening.
Aisha Sasha John begins her three-year residency with Dancemakers by remounting an entirely revised version of her first full-length solo performance “the aisha of is,” a show that was previously performed at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York City (2017), MAI (2018) and SummerWorks Festival (2018).
Called “truly sublime” by The Globe and Mail, live musical provides an atmosphere wherein John is both Wizard and Dorothy, where the home being sought is perpetually found. Welcome to is.
