Discover Dance with Sukruti Tirupattur at Meridian Arts Centre

You are invited to Discover Dance, a free, all-ages, lunch hour series, where you will be introduced to some of Toronto’s incredible dance artists. Hosted by the award-winning choreographer Nova Bhattacharya, Discover Dance is an hour packed with dance and conversation. You will have the opportunity to see dance and share your thoughts; to hear stories and ask questions; and to discover how dance forms from near and far are being woven in Toronto’s cultural scene.

ABOUT THE ARTIST – Sukruti Tirupattur is a Bharatanatyam performer, teacher, Yoga instructor and holds a Master’s degree in History. She is from Bangalore, India, now residing in Toronto. She trained at the world renowned Kalakshetra Foundation to be a professional dancer. She has been mentored by acclaimed personalities in dance such as Adyar K. Lakshman, Anita R. Ratnam and P. T. Narendran. As a performer, she aims to present the traditional dance form of Bharatanatyam to newer audiences with a fresh perspective. Sukruti is currently exploring community arts and is developing educational content for Bharatanatyam and holistic understanding of Indian culture.
