Toronto’s salsa dance community is saddened by the loss of one of their participants, Alex Shutov, just 34 years old. Due to cars stopping abruptly at a construction site he was killed on Hwy. 48 in a horrific five-vehicle crash involving three gravel trucks, a cube van, and an SUV on Thursday July 27.
The Sunday Salsa Social, which attracts dancers from all over Toronto, is hosting a fundraiser for Alex Shutov on the August Civic Holiday long weekend. Their goal is to raise a minimum of $5,000 for a funeral and small ceremony.
