The National Ballet of Canada’s RBC Apprentices, under the direction of Joan and Jerry Lozinski, will be presenting a free performance at Toronto’s Union Station’s West Wing as part of Fall for Dance North’s INFLORESCENCE. The event will take place on Saturday, May 27, with two shows at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm ET.
During the performance, the RBC Apprentices will showcase various pieces, including a pas de deux from Swan Lake, Vida by Carmen Romero, 4 for 5 by Natasha Powell, Ever New by Robert Binet (Choreographic Associate), and a new work titled Sugar Water by Alyssa Martin, created through the National Ballet’s CreativAction Micro-Commissions program. Additionally, the Apprentices will engage in an on-site ballet class led by Robert Binet, providing the audience with a glimpse into their training process.
INFLORESCENCE, a free dance event, will be held on May 27 and 28. The festival will feature performances by Ballet Creole, dance artists from Toronto Metropolitan University Performance at the Creative School, York University School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design, Canada’s National Ballet School, and The National Ballet of Canada RBC Apprentices. Furthermore, the event will include digital programming featuring three original commissions by Toronto Dance Theatre.
Fall for Dance North, now in its ninth season, is Toronto’s leading international dance festival.
