If you aspire to create site-specific work, where do you get started? And what if you are a dancer seeking to learn more about acting? What if you are an actor seeking to deepen your movement practise? If you have considered any of the above questions, Frog in Hand’s week-long summer intensive, LeapFrog is for you.
Hosted by site-specific dance-theatre company Frog in Hand in collaboration with Daniel Levinson of Rapier Wit (Combat for Stage and Screen), LEAPfrog will offer integrated training in movement/dance, site-specific composition and acting. Participants will be challenged and supported as they approach text, cultivate their physical capacity for movement, deepen their reflective process and learn about collaborative creation in a site-specific environment. This compelling and fun intensive will take place from August 5th-10th (August 5-6 Toronto, August 7th-10th in Port Credit, Mississauga), culminating in a final showing of participant-generated site-specific work on Saturday August 10th.

About Frog in Hand
Colleen Snell & Noelle Hamlyn, Co-Founders
We are a dance-theatre company based in Mississauga, Ontario. We are curious about people, and the spaces we inhabit. Our mission is to uncover, make, and share stories through dance. We contribute to community by sharing resources, knowledge and experience through creation, performance and education.
We create integrated dance-theatre experiences that resonate physically, emotionally and contextually. We push the boundaries of dance performance through collaborative processes that embrace and advocate for embodied ways of knowing about the world. We attend not only to the details of the work we make, but also to the processes we use to create our work.
Our work is innovative and reflects our passion for dance as a medium that transcends language. We are committed to dance that engages with its site and is rooted in community; recognizing and honouring diverse stories and storytellers. For more: https://www.froginhand.com/
