In the Japanese arts, “MA” can refer to the negative space to what is painted on the page, or the silence between musical notes. In Farsi, MA means ‘us’ or ‘union’. MA | The Space Between Us takes these two translations as inspiration for a new collaborative work between Nagata Shachu and Sashar Zarif.
