Award-winning dancer and choreographer Esie Mensah presents the world premiere of Shades at the Factory Theatre from September 27 – 30, 2018. The work is a powerful and visually striking exploration into the discrimination between lighter- and darker-skinned people within communities of colour known as shadeism. A stunning piece of dance and theatre, the deeply personal Shades has been carved from real-life experiences by Mensah and her team of six ground-breaking collaborators. The urgent work offers the opportunity to start a conversation of healing across all communities to ultimately lead towards a path of reconciliation.
