Congratulations you have been approved for an account on TorontoDance.com
This document will explain how to use the user dashboard available to logged-in users. Once you have logged in, you will be able to edit, delete, and even duplicate your events. You will also be able to update your profile.
Create Events
Once you have logged in, you will be taken to “My Events.” To create a new event, find the “Add New” button to the right and then fill out the information required.
![]() |
After you submit the event from the bottom of the event entry form, your event will be in the “Pending” list until it is approved by an administrator.
Edit Events
Posted erroneous info or something has changed? Just find your event under My Events, and click on Edit.
![]() |
Tip: If your event has expired but will recur in the future, you can simply change the date of your event and voila your event will be visible on the site again for the new date. Also since the event will have the same url (link) as before on the website, any links you or anyone else has from outside TorontoDance.com to your event will still work.
Delete Events
You may have to delete an event if it has been cancelled or if it has happened a long time ago.
![]() |
Tip: Do not delete events that are still fairly recent as you can always use them as templates for new events (by changing the date and editing, for example). These events also show the history of activities in any particular location. But yes go ahead and delete events that are several months old.
Duplicate Events
Running several events at the same location? If you want to reuse a photo, description, or the location without having to re-enter this information, you can duplicate a previous event. Once you have duplicated it, change the date and the other details that are different.
![]() |
Tip: If you have recurring event, it makes sense to create two or three copies of the event, say for weeks 1, 2, and 3. Then you can simply change the date of the first event when it has passed by setting the date to that of week 4. That way visitors to the site can see a few weeks into the future while you simply update the date rather than create new events every week.
Share Events
After your event has been published, you will be able to easily share your event by clicking on one of these icons on the bottom of your event. Just navigate to your event (you can simply click on the link in the confirmation email you received), and then quickly share.
Policies
Please do not create more than 5 future occurrences of repeat events. Once they have expired, simply edit the events to update the date each time rather than posting new events, thank you! Be sure to read our event submission policies.
