Shiamak Davar is a renowned Indian choreographer, entertainer, and dance educator who has brought a fusion dance style combining Western Jazz technique and Indian movement to the Toronto area. His “Winter Funk” workshop is a unique program training amateur dancers to perform like confident professionals.
Shiamak’s Winter Funk students are now ready to celebrate the Spirit Of World Dance with you on Saturday December 12 at the Living Arts Centre, 4141 Living Arts Drive, Mississauga. There will be two shows: at 12:30 pm and 6:30pm.
About Shiamak’s Winter Funk
“Winter Funk is an extension of my motto – Have Feet. Will Dance. With these shows I aim to give all my students, no matter what age, size or background, a professional platform to display their dancing talent.” says Davar. “Canada has tremendous potential. People are culturally inclined and dance comes naturally to them. It is amazing to see the love and willingness they have to learn fusion dance styles from India.”
Shiamak Davar has been credited for being the guru of contemporary dance in India and has an immense following in India, UAE, Canada, Australia and South Africa. In fact, Bill Clinton, former President of the United States, has told Davar that ‘the world must see you!’.
