The Toronto City Workers strike did not prevent the recent Salsa on St. Clair Festival, and proves to be no deterent to the launch of the 2009 Caribana Festival either.  Thousands packed into Younge-Dundas square yesterday  for the official launch

The  2009 Salsa on St. Clair Street Festival is running July 11-12 as planned despite the garbage strike and construction on St. Clair Avenue. There will be some unavoidable obstacles due to the construction but they will not affect the festivities,
